TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO EDIT DTEXT WITHOUT IT BRINGING UP A DIALOG BOX AND JUST EDIT THE TEXT IN THE DWG WITHOUT POPPING UP DIALOG BOX:pissed:

Mtext or Dtext? Mtext brings up an editor.

Drag mouse backwards (right to left) across text and edit the properties.
That's one way I edit Mtext and regular text and host of other things.

I use ACAD 2006. For what you want I'd set the system variable DTEXTED to 0.

For MTEXT, set MTEXTED to "."

Right on sarge im using acad 2009 with land desktop im pretty sure your right with the system variable editor. I'll have to try it on mon after the holiday weekend
