Does anyone know of a dgn to dwg converter? I only need it on occasion, and don't have alot of $$$ to spend on it at this moment.

Thanks in advance

If you have ACAD map then you can import it through the Map-Tools-Import menu. If you don't then you will have to wait on someone else to answer you.

autodwg.com has one that has worked well for us. Cost I believe is around $400, but it has saved us much more than that. It converts dgn files and all associated reference files and maintains all of the reference file connections. You can download a free version that lets you view, but not save, the converted file, so you can try before you buy.

If the drawing came from someone you know who uses Microstation, just ask them to do a "save as" *.dwg

GOOGLE it

I have been looking on Google. I see 100's of references to AutoDwg's program.

I have looked through about 30 pages of google searches, but no free ones that I could find.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Carlson 2010 will convert it. If you don't have it, send it to me @ j.wes.cole at gmail dot com and I will be happy to convert it for you.

Why buy anything if you just need it once in awhile?

We have a forum here that is geared for Surveyors helping Surveyors.

I use MS as well as plenty others, just post and someone will help you out.

I know I will, because I have been helped out plenty.

DGN to DWG converter Tommy..

I just came on line and was about to post Bentley Link as this Q has come up many times over the years.

I actually downloaded Bentley . I reckon it was Rob Mellis who worked for Bentley who told me.

Any version of Autocad from 2009 to current will direct read a dgn file.

Trimble Business Center - Heavy Construction Edition is available for download. It has a DGN (V8) converter that works great. It is a FREE download. I have many DOT Contractors in Texas using it to "wash" MircoStation files for other software programs.

Correct. Just use Autocad if you have a newer version as Jason said.
