Looking for suggestions for a good laser printer that doesn't cost a fortune and meets the above requirements.

Currently using an Epson Workforce ink jet but wanting an upgrade.

Quick, right, or cheap......pick any two. The same applies to laser printers in my experience. Color, 11x17, value......pick any two. 11x17 really jacks up the price point.

Might could go to a 11x 17 bypass feed instead of tray.

If you have the acreage in your office available I would suggest checking out the government surplus auctions. We got a $45k networked copy machine for $2500 and have never looked back. Color, laser quality, sorting, network scanner, 11x17 color printer 4 paper trays - all in one. You can also locally look for the units that are low mileage and off lease - the lease companies usually don't want ton for them as they made their money on the lease program.

Downside is they take up floor space, some power and are HEAVY.

Great idea. I hadn't thought about a true "office" machine.

Was shopping around for the same printer about 6 months ago and couldn't find anything affordable . I ended up up going the ink jet route (HP 7612). Prints look nice at 11 x 17, but even better at 13x19 on quality paper. Almost perfect size for bringing out into the field.

Like others havesaid, try an ink jet. I use an Epson WF-7520. There is a newer version out (WF-76w0) No, it is not a laser, but with max settings it is acceptable...and it is cheap. It is also an MFP, so it can copy and scan to a computer. If you are not happy, you are only out $300 from Office Depot.
