I'm trying to transition from civil 3d to Carlson. Its painful. Im using 2017 Survey with Intellicad. Somehow the ribbon disappeard, can somebody tell me how to bring the ribbon back or just reload the default workspace?

Edit: I just figured it out. You type "ribbon" software has a way of making me feel dumb.

Trust me, it may seem painful now, but it'll get better, and you probably won't regret doing it. I switched about 15 years ago, and had my struggles early on (still don't know why the default setting is for points to be on Real Z), but wouldn't trade back now if you paid me.

Print the manual or pull it up on a second screen and go thru it page by page and study in detail the parts that apply to your needs and continue.

The Carslon online tutorial are a must for some specific detail information.

The entire program can be setup to your wants and needs.

Just right-click in a blank area of the menu bar, then you should see a menu on which "Switch to Ribbon" is one of the options.

You can also minimize the ribbon to get more vertical space when you are not actually making picks from the ribbon.

Similarly, right clicking in the Status bar lets you customize that element as well.

If you are trying to use an Autodesk product such as Map 3D, Raster, Civil 3D, ect. you will bang your head against the wall when it comes to thecarlson work space. You will never again see the tools you are used to seeing unless you switch profiles to access them, which I refuse to do. If your into customization and spending your time diving deep into Autocad, you will probably find a way to make Carlson co-exist with the other Autodesk products.

Also be prepared for multiple duplicated menus (FILE, HELP, EDIT, ect.)

With all that said, I really like the Carlson software. I just wish it came out of the box playing nice with all of the other expensive software we have purchased.
