I was trying an adjustment to a traverse using SurvNet earlier this week. When the adjustment was done, and the program was ready to write the points back to the CRD file I got errors on every point saying was wrong with the Point Name. I don't remember exactly what the error message said, but it sounded like the routine to store the points in the CRD file wouldn't recognize alpha-numeric point names. When I listed the points in the file, it was empty.
SurvNet wrote also wrote a comma separated file, and I tried to import that into the CRD file and got the same error. I finally deleted the CRD and created a new one. This time I had no problem with the point names.
Any one had a similar problem?
Go to settings enable alpha-numeric labels.
It gets me every now and then too, It will switch to c & g point file instead of Carlson alpha-numeric. Lee is right on.
leegreen - I have Carlson Alpha-numeric selected under Carlson Settings > General Settings for the project (our default). I don't see where to set that for SurvNet.
Adam - I'll try using the C&G point file next time.

Will, under survnet project settings go to Output Options and select, then select type.

I keep mine set on Carlson Alpha-numeric, sometimes it will default to C and G.
In SurvNet, Settings, Output Options, Write to Coordinate File, click the Select Button. There's a dropdown box. Choose alphanumeric.
I wish Carlson would fix the issue of it wanting to default and sometimes switch (on its' own) to C&G alphanumeric when I have it set for Carlson alphanumeric. It will also default to the C&G contour layer names too. It's very aggravating, because once the drawing thinks that you're working in C&G, it doesn't respond to switching to Carlson alphanumeric. I have to wblock or copy the drawing into a new drawing that is already set for Carlson alphanumeric.
Ah, there it is. I missed that pull-down, and yes it is set to C&G Numeric.
Thanks.
