I am a new user on Carlson Survey I am running 2014 and playing with the enter deed description. I have an old deed with interior angles only. But the prompts in the deed description function are only in azimuth and bearings. Obviously I can calc all those out but it seems I should be able to enter the deed by turned angles. Is there a way to draft a line by turned angles? Thanks, Ryan

Yeah I saw that, didn't know if there is one with the deed function. I guess not?

Draw a polyline on screen , go to edit menu then extend by distance , pick polyline then you will see many options in the command to draw polylines.

Angle Right Should Be Option 7, Left Is 6

You have to use the Traverse routine.

Deeds are not written that way or shouldn't be.

1 NE, 2 SE, 3 SW, 4 NW, 5 Az, 6 AL, 7 AR, 8 Deflection Left, 9 Deflection Right

However in Deeds you can do the quick entry of 145.2020 for N45-20-20E.

No need for 5. 1 works, at least in the software with which I'm familiar.

Thanks for posting what 1-9 means. I played with it for a while and figured it out. The Deed function reminds me of the way Terramodel draws by sets. Thanks for the replies.

why not just start at due north and do the math for the bearings? No, there is no interior angles option for the PDD function.

I draw deeds with either bearings or angles simply with the 2dp function. Click somewhere and follow the directions (i.e. d for distance, enter distance, enter, a for angle, number of quadrant, bearing, and voila, you drew the line) or using angles using the extend function and use the deflection.

After a while, I didn't even need to look at the screen. It's WAY WAY WAY faster than the deed function and doesn't eat up point numbers.

No need for 5??????? You enter azimuths all in the Northeast Quadrant code?? Your software does not differentiate between bearings and azimuths?? You can enter code 1 at 155.3030 and it draws correctly? :excruciating:
