Good morning from soon to be soggy SW Florida!?ÿ ?ÿ
So now that I'm at a bigger firm and using the latest Carlson with Autocad, I'm having growing pains.?ÿ
Today's issue is seems to be layers.?ÿ ?ÿ The standard here is that the "Ex_" prefix goes on pretty much everything we do.?ÿ Which I understand as we do in house engineering as well.?ÿ Not saying I agree with it but that's another story.?ÿ?ÿ
My issue is trying to navigate to particular layers.?ÿ I'm used to the LDD style where it toggles through?ÿ to the layer you want as you type.?ÿ It seems that this setup only looks at the first letter.?ÿ ?ÿSo trying to get to the EX_Water?ÿ layer I have to hit "E" a million times.?ÿ not very useful.?ÿ
If I type "EX" then it goes to a layer that begins with "X".?ÿ?ÿ
?ÿSince they all begin with "E", I'm forced to manually scroll through them all to get to the one I'm looking for.?ÿ
Is there a way to modify the sort/search parameters in Carlson ??ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ
?ÿ
Thx.?ÿ AJ
Have you tried a new layer filter??ÿ You can set the properties to ex_* and it'll grab all layers.
Yes, but I guess I'm talking more about quickly switching from one layer to another without having to scroll through them.?ÿ It used to be so easy... just start typing the name of the layer and it auto-placed you there.?ÿ ?ÿIt wasn't limited to the first letter search.?ÿ seems lame!?ÿ?ÿ
I have a standard layers drawing, with my layers drawn in model space. I use the set current layer button and pick the feature and bingo, my layer is set. Easy Peasy; mere seconds out of my busy day...
So you have the lines off to the side of a title block or something??ÿ ?ÿ
Yes, sort of; my title block is in paper space.
PM me your email and I will send you my template drawing.
Have a great weekend! I know I will ??ÿ
