Hi,

Just trying out one more programming endeavour ƒ?? wrote an app for android. This is a data collection, coordinate transformation and RTK network analysis app. The first two functionalities are useless in the US because the app is metric and it is using Transverse Mercator projection only.

But last functionality might be of some use: it tells how RTK Network performs at any point of coverage area. For example you are going somewhere you have not been before 😉 with your RTN Rover and you want to know ahead of time: will the network generate VRS for you over there or not ?, if not than how far it will be to closest base ?, will it make sense to rely on RTN there at all ? - this app will try to answer these kind of questions. This app also shows Leica Spider (MAC) network type configuration, it actually shows on a map locations of master and auxiliary stations

In order to get RTN state information one would have to find his destination on the app's map, than create and select a point there, and then connect to RTN and save its response,

The app' NTRIP client cheats RTN by sending it not your current coordinates here but the coords of the point you have selected on map, so the RTN thinks you are there now and the app is saving the network's response that you can anayse.

A quick guide is here https://rtnfriend.weebly.com/ and the app can be installed from here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rtnfriend

I would appreciate any comments on this, especially negative ones because they make things to improve 😉

Sorry the app is free only for 30 days but, honestly I do not think anyone would be interested to keep it (like no one wants my gps l1 only receivers :))

With kind regards,

Yuriy

Hi,

I do not know for how long I can advertise like this., sorry about that, can not afford advertising at the top of this page yet.

Just wanted to let know that that app supports any linear units and a few more projections are added - they are user customisable, hopefully more state planes can be defined in the app. Also added support of Novatel based receivers (Sokkia, Leica and any other receivers holding Novatel heart inside). RTNFriend is more like a data collection app now. My close friend has Sokkia GSR2700ISX and I had it for week and was able to test my app with this receiver and it works perfect. A few screenshots:

Hopefully someone will find it useful.
