I'm trying to load Carlson Survey 2007 stand alone onto my desktop. It's a windows Vista home Premium machine with a 64 bit operating system. I get an error 1308 source file not found D:windowsfonts8.0.50727.42.policy. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it. when I look in that folder I do not see this file.
The screen went out on my laptop and it will be a few days before I can replace the parts. I need to get some drafting done but I only have my desktop at the moment.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
TIA

Does your laptop have a VGA port? You might be able to plug your desktop monitor into your laptop.
When are you getting the error message? Inside of Carlson or during installation?
I had an issue a few weeks back with Carlson 2012 and administrator rights in Win 7. To get it to run correct, I had to right click on the Carlson icon and select run as administrator. Windows would then ask me if I wanted to allow the program to make changes to the computer. You have to go into properties and change the security setting of the Carlson icon to run as administrator each time.
Another idea, if you are on a network you can remote desktop to the laptop and run Carlson from there. No video needed on the laptop, however I think the networking needs to be setup already.
Ladd,
Why the secret solution?
You have been real great on suggestive problem solving these issues
on this board. I always like to take note of these solutions so
we can help all in the future.
No worry's Ladd (at least not from me;-) ) Was able to hook up my monitor, that will have to do for now....
It's good to be busy!
I will try the 30 day trial, after I get back on track..
Thanks for all the help!
