okay so I have set up my field to finish in Carlson, but when I go to process my files I am noticing that on codes I have setup to be 3D Lines and 2DPolylines based on the same set of points they are showing up like .05' different. When I measure from a random point on the 3D line perp to the 2D line, it says 0.

What's going on here?

Maybe type "regen"; does it make any difference?

When you see a differance like this that measures out at 0, then you either have a graphics card problem or are in need of a regen because you have an arc segment. Perhaps setting your VIEWRES up to about 2,000 or highr may also help.

It may have to do with the slope distance of the 3D polyline. I had the same problem with '04 Carlson. Unless you NEED the 3D line, I suggest drawing in 2D.

If your using break lines for a topo map, they need to be 3d. Make sure 2d lines aren't involved in your tin.

That's called the Carlson Bug! Since 2004 they've known about the problem and have not addressed it.

I found that, sometimes, when I inserted points using the Point Group Manager (PGM) some points would come in at different locations (0.05'-0.25') than from their original location and the point labels would show up at random rotations.

I don't insert points using PGM anymore. I use the "Draw Points" tool and then "Groups" and have had no problems.

If you are inserting points using the PGM, that might be the problem... its really buggy.
