Is there a way to get the code description to only display what's after the "/" in the code. For instance when we find a rebar we code it as follows: FIR/1/2" PLS XXXX. I want when I plot the points for the "FIR/" to be removed and only show "1/2" PLS XXXX". Is that possible? If so how do you set it up?

In the field to finish, edit the code for FIR to remove the text in the description box. It will only populate the "note" for the point description attribte

Yes I believe you can. In the Edit Field Code Definition set up your FIR code as follows:
Code = FIR
Full Code Name = "whatever you want"
Description = (leave Blank)
Use Raw Description = OFF

To enhance your drawing options, I would also suggest setting your Attribute Format to "Text Attribute".
Then in the "GIS/ NOTE/ POINT ATTRIBUTE LABELS" BOX, put a check next to POINT#, ELEVATION, DESCRIPTION
Then set the position, order, text size and layer as you desire. I would make the point#, Elevation and Description a separate layer.

By doing this, you can show point symbol and description only in the view port just by using the layer settings. Then if you need to move the point description you can use the standard text adjustment tools like "movetext".
