I had this issue before trying to connect my D.C. to a Win.7 machine, but since I could dump to my desktop I never pursued the problem, I am now in between the proverbial rock and a hard place.
I had to upgrade my XP desktop to Win.8 this week, and now I cannot transfer from the D.C. to the desktop. I called Carlson and the guy said he would have to look for a solution on one of their machines and get back to me. I was just wondering if any of you guys had ran into this same problem with Win.8
Some info on what I'm using:
Windows 8 pro (32-bit)
Carlson Survey 2008 Standalone
Carlson Explorer II
Serial cable to usb
Any thoughts would help
Oh and for the record, I hate Windows 8 :-@
Are you in desktop mode?
Yes, I'm in the desktop mode when in Carlson. I was thinking it may be a firewall problem but I've "allowed" Carlson so now I'm at a loss.
Thankfully this is one problem I have not had with Windows 8 but I am using Carlson 2013 with Icad and an ancient version of Survce on an ancient AllegroCX dc.
Windows 8 is pure evil , sorry I can only hate it with you. Hope the firewall thing works out.
This has been a big help to me: http://startisback.com/
