Under the pull down Settings there is an Item called:
Point Object Snap On/Off
This is very useful when snapping to point nodes. I am trying to find a way to toggle it on without having to do so every time I open a drawing.
Saving the drawing with the toggle on does not help. When I open the drawing again this toggle is turned off.
Thanks

F3 (ACAD point snap) is not quite the same as the Carlson Point Object Snap On/Off routine. From what I've been told, Carlson doesn't appear to have code to recall the setting for this routine but I've also been informed it has been added to the wishlist.
Just Pick Node In The OSNAP Settings
But the insertion point is also the node of poihent symbols.
My default OSNAPs are Endpoint and Insert.
I toggle Perpendicular on when I do building ties on a survey.
If I need an odd OSNAP I just zip over to the Object Snap Toolbar. My normal toolbars are Modify, Text and Object Snap. Everything else I am comfortable with a pulldown or a Command Line shortcut.
Ladd, what exactly does the "Settings", "Point Object Snap" do that is worthwhile?

Just Pick Node In The OSNAP Settings
It lets you snap to the node when your pick box runs over any portion of the point block. In a wad of points you can snap to a specific node by sliding the pick box to the descriptor, elevation or point number---whichever one you can get to.
Right now you have to select via the pull down after opening a drawing or whenever you to a "Draw, locate points". Add points and you have to reselect. It's worth the effort though.
Type 'pointsnap
with the single quote, it's a transparent command that can be turned on or off while running a command
I've created my own toolbar, and I throw all the stuff I need into it. This way all my common commands are grouped together.
Just add the command to your custom toolbar and there it is at your finger tips.
Set mbuttonpan to 0 and the snaps appear when the mouse wheel is pressed.
