So I can't believe I'm asking this, but I don't see anything online, so here goes.?ÿ ?ÿIn C3D if I just want to print out a few points from my file for the field, is there an easy way to do this??ÿ ?ÿ
?ÿ
Seems like I'd have to do some workaround to create?ÿ a point group and then export it to print it.?ÿ I hope I'm wrong.?ÿ?ÿ

You don't have to make a point group (if you're using the default point groups C3d gives you) but you will need to export the points.
Or you can just take a screen shot of the "edit points" dialog as a quick fix.

?ÿ
yeah, that's what I thought.?ÿ ?ÿI was able to highlight the needed points, then "copy value" and paste directly into excel.?ÿ ?ÿjust seems like a pretty common task that should (and has been for years) automated .?ÿ ?ÿ two steps forward, three steps back.?ÿ?ÿ
@andy-j?ÿ
Yeah, copy and paste works too, forgot about that one. Glad you got it sorted!

When I converted from C&G to Softdesk back in 1997 one of my first questions was how to print out a coordinate listing. It was easy in C&G. Autodesk has just never considered it worth any effort.
On the Point List, highlight what you need then right click and there??s 2 copy options, then paste somewhere and print.

I have literally never used this until just now...thanks!
This is something I've always enjoyed about CAD users in general. We all do things a little differently, or know different things and I enjoy picking up others methods.

With a set of well established point numbering protocols and auto populate point groups it's a very simple exercise.?ÿ Nothing in C3D is quick out of the box and that is/was certainly a frustration for many.?ÿ And, as others have identified, there are other ways.
?ÿ
yes, thanks.?ÿ

I was hoping there was an option with less than 4-5 steps, but I see that's not the case.?ÿ ?ÿ
I like creating point groups. I think having them provides a lot of flexibility.?ÿ
Have you tried using the Points Report from the Miscellaneous Utilities within the Toolbox tab of your Prospector? This gives you plentiful options to create a selection set and a desired format for the report.?ÿ
