My Brother is making some strange sounds. Screechy sounds and its not that old.

Anyone have this happen?

Any ideas?

Thanks

My brother did that too when we were kids. I'm not sure he ever outgrew it either.....good luck. 😉

ditto on the warranty.

when my Brother MFC6490cw gave me trouble they sent me a refurbished J6710DW almost instantly, prepaid shipping... and did not want the dead machine returned.

the Refurbished machine had a New Warranty that is that same as a New one.
(a local shop repaired the dead one for less than $50)

I had to take mine to a local repair shop while it was under warranty. Brother paid for it but I had to buy another printer to use because I was told it would take about a week to be repaired and I needed one that day. Then the repair only took 2 days.

Good tips on the warranty.

I wish I could find my warranty info or proof of purchase on my Brother MFC-6490CW.

I usually save all this stuff somewhere on my pc.

Oh well. At least I have a new use for one of my old drafting triangles.

For whatever it's worth, I have had several products that I no longer had the warranties to or the receipts for. The companies still treated them as under warranty without the proof-of-purchase or the original warranties. If it ever breaks down, give them (Brother) a call. It might be that simple.

I had a shop-vac switch go out, and I couldn't find a replacement switch, so I called Shop-Vac, and they got my address over the phone and sent me the whole replacement top that had the switch built into it. They didn't ask when or where I bought it or for a receipt.

The last item was my Acer Tablet that had totally stopped working, and had been expired for over a year. They gave me a case number, had me go to a web site and download/print a prepaid mailing label, and send it in. they sent it back fully repaired.

Also had a Milwaukee cordless drill replaced, and a portable air compressor replaced at no charge.

Any piece of equipment can break down, the true mettle of the company that made them is what they do about it after it does.

It's always good to check.
