Using Carlson 2015 and when I use a dimension line the text doesn't automatically align to the dim line....how do I enable this?
I'm not sure what flavour of CAD you're using but in AutoCAD issue the "ddim" command and for the current dimension style select "modify" and under the text tab select "aligned with dimension line" and then "ok" and "close".
Hope this helps.

I haven't loaded up my 2015 yet, but the selections should be the same as on mine. Under "AutoAnnotate", then on the "Lines" tab should be 2 boxes at the top. One says "Orientation" and should be set to "parallel" and below that a box that says "Justification" and set that to "centered".
If that does not fix the problem, type "Units" on the command line, and then select the "Direction" radio button. Set that to "East". (If there is a value in the "other" selection, THAT was your problem. Unless they have fixed it, it is ALWAYS a good idea to check that setting after using the description writer tool. It tens to leave a residual in the units direction.)
