Autocad Land Desk top for Windows 7 64bit

I have used the steps outlined in the fourth post down to successfully install ldd3 on both windows 7 & 8

We had our old LDD installed on our WIN 7 64 bit machines through a 'virtual computer' that basically emulated an XP computer from your desktop. I imagine that's what the link posted above leads too?

While LDD worked it wasn't the same, it acted strangely and was almost unusable. Once my HD crashed I never reinstalled it, just wasn't worth it.

No, no virtual machine, just a work around with UAC, folder naming, etc., that allows for the program to be installed and run on a windows 7 machine. Here is the copy & paste of what I am referencing:

If that doesn't work for you I might know of another option. I have Carlson Survey 2006 and Autocad 2002 running on a Windows 8 64 bit machine with no problems. The method I used you need to have access to a computer that has the programs installed and working correctly on, only to copy some folders from one machine to the other with a thumb drive of similar.

I do not think you can do the install that you want with the version you have. You need to have the AutoCad versions that run in 64bit.

I was able to get Land Development 2i running on top of AutoCAD 2000 on a Win7-64 machine. After much additional work I got the Express Tools working.

While it can be done, I found it to be unstable. Updates to Windows and other programs would corrupt the AutoCAD install. Once that happened the only recourse was to uninstall and reinstall AutoCAD. I had it down to an art, but when you're facing a deadline and your software tanks without warning it puts the cost of new, stable software in a different light.

After reinstalling AutoCAD 2000 and LDD2i for the umpteenth time I switched to Carlson Civil Suite 2013 running on AutoCAD 2013 and I've never regretted it.

Don't know if this helps or not, (I had the same problem a few years ago- older software won't run on the new OS) but you can pick up a refurbished XP machine from a place like Microcenter for about $100- I did this a few years ago, bought extra ram to the max amount the old box would hold, and ran LDD on that machine. Worked like a charm and I didn't have to upgrade the software.

I've installed V2002 on both Windows 7 and 8 machines with no issues at all.

First I copy the entire CD onto the hard drive of the computer. Right click the install file and to run as administrator and in Windows XP service pack 3 mode then install normally.
