I'm a little surprised that I would ever post under this category, but it seemed appropriate.

I was doing some reading about the use of AI (artificial intelligence for all us old codgers) in the development of self-driving cars.?ÿ I believe the folks developing the real-time software/ hardware interface quickly realized that simply "programming" a car would not provide the required security against a "kobayashi maru" or an impossible scenario where a vehicle would have to make a moral vs. financial decision.?ÿ Hence it seems their efforts focused on the development of vehicles that actually 'learn' how to drive.?ÿ

Imagine a car with 100K miles being worth more than one with zero miles...

Anyway, with the eventual development of true AI, land surveying might become just an app.?ÿ You know, where we input all the physical locations and parameters of our data and the software (in mere nanoseconds) pours over the entire laws of the applicable state, all the supreme courts rulings and minimum standards?ÿand spits out the calculated positions.?ÿ

I for one think the BLM would be the first to jump on board.?ÿ It would be fantastic if you imagine it.

But then again...after some thought...it might present the AI with the first thing it ever found that couldn't be contained in algorithms or logic.?ÿ We might need to keep a fire extinguisher handy in case the processors get too hot. ??ÿ

There was movie in the early 80's that covers exactly that, with the AI being learned the lesson of futility by playing tic tac toe (so that it wouldn't blow up the world):

Most days I think that is the only algorithm needed.

The programmer would have to register an account on RPLSToday for the AI unit so it would learn how to properly cuss out architects, pin cushions, lawyers, bureaucrats, briars, yellow jackets, etc.

Hmmmm, maybe somebody already has...

That would be nice, then we can have someone, I guess something to blame when things go wrong.

I'm all for it.

Did any of you all see the robot that wanted to kill humanity? This is the same one Saudi Arabia granted citizenship to in another news story. Uh, she, if that's the proper term, said in an interview with a journalist that human life should basically be wiped out. That's not the scary part, though. She was reprogrammed after this incident. Then, another journalist was interviewing her. She was answering all questions without skipping a beat until it was asked what she meant about ending humanity in the earlier interview......she dodged the question.....

Elon Musk says that AI should worry us.?ÿ http://fortune.com/2017/08/18/elon-musk-artificial-intelligence-risk/

What would happen if one AI entity pushed another's buttons?
