Dear AutoDesk,
I would gladly pay your annual fee if you would reciprocate with a refund for every crash I endure.
Thank you.
If autodesk wants to disenfranchise surveyors, through their aggressive pricing scheme, that's their business. Intellicad is Carlson's answer to this situation. I cannot blame them.
If they wish to back down, they will maintain their position. If they don't, then more and more folks will find alternatives.
Such is life.

I think they've pretty much already done that...years ago. Autodesk could care less about small business, unless they're willing to pony up the bucks. Then you're just another victim (as opposed to customer or subscriber).
Or make the switch to #microsurvey
Yes, alternatives have been found. But Autodesk sure makes it hard to continue finding these alternatives. It really bothers me when I run into compatibility issues.

So...Where does Intellicad come from?
Hmm...is that Autodesk on the committee?
So, why would they support Intellicad?
IF they had 99.99% of the business, what would they do then? Endure an anti-trust suit, that's what.
They are much better off letting the small fry go somewhere else, keep the big guys they can, and move forward. I guarantee there is a lawyer in an office somewhere telling Autodesk exactly how much market share they can have, and I assume it influences the pricing.

I hate AutoDesk - but Civil 3D 2016 w/16 GB is rock solid...

Really? C3D 2014 is weak.

I haven't seen anything indicating that Autodesk is a member of the ITC. Do you have information otherwise?
I drove by Autodesk's offices on the east side of U.S. 101 in San Rafael yesterday.

Really - I think I've had 1 crash, maybe 2 in å±5 months...

I do run Carlson survey, civil, hydro, point cloud on top. Point cloud causes some crashes. I have a spec template with 500 layers and the layer manager is so slow.

Intellicad's interests in the U.S. are held by Carlson. Dave Carlson is in charge of that product. He has rewritten a lot of the code to solve the stability issues. Autodesk dropped out of the consortium in about 2007, or whenever Carol Farts took over,
my civil 3d crash experience
2008 1 per hour
2009 2 per day
2010 2 per week
2012 1 per month
2016 never

Were you swearing under your breath at them? 😀

Autodesk was never a member of the ITC.

No independent information. I thought I read an article on the ITC, and they talked about it.
I searched and found it. I misunderstood. Autodesk DID have some role in Intellicad, was forced to drop it, for obvious reasons.
