  1. Carlson survey 2019
Crd file has elevations for points. Points in drawing have elevation zero. I need the points to have elevations so they will be included in surface by triangulate and contour.

You can either draw/locate points out of the points menu and click the locate on real z box. Or in your tri/surface menu use points from .crd instead of points from.dwg

Working on topo of entire section with about 15,000 points on different layers. Draw/locate, draw field to finish, pick from crd options seem to put everything on one layer if I use the entire point range, or I have to sift through 15,000 point names and type them in individually for each layer. I would like to redraw the entire point range with elevations and have them remain on their current layer.

Looks like I can use a combination of wildcard match, node only, and layer by description to draw/locate what I need.

Thanks for the help.

Try Update Drawing from CRD File. Save a copy first though in case it doesn't work out.

If you are just trying to contour then contour from .crd as suggested above your objects can stay in 2d.
