Nope. I don't think the pay is there. Seems like an awful lot of responsibility for the pay.
According to the BLS that's right at the bottom ten percent. It's kind of hard to believe ten have already applied when the median survey tech wages is five bucks more an hour.
I might have taken that job for that pay in 1987.

Requires one year experience and licensed in two states! Think the HR department needs to do some research on licensing requirements.
if you can't say anything nice...don't say anything...
The part about one year experience and one year in management doesn't fit too well with the concept of being licensed already in at least on of the two
states listed. Agree with Dallas that the HR folks don't have a clue.
Over the years I've had a number of younger surveyors call me and ask what I think about either a job ad or an offer from some firm. While I appreciate the fact that these surveyors can learn from my career of "working everywhere", I tell them all the same thing: Call the place and ask to either talk to the surveyor that is there, or how to contact the one that just left. 99.9% of the firms won't let that happen. Must be a reason....

a couple years more experience gets you $2k

According to Indeed, you can make $17K more if you're willing to drive ten miles and work as a machinery technician in a pet food factory.

I live 2 hours southwest. Trust me. The cost of living isn't that low.
Some of the resumes I get are as bad as this ad. They were made for each other.

I was making more than that twenty years ago as an instrument man.
Um No
Are you kidding, I'd double my pay, I'm all over that one. All joking aside, it is without a doubt not paying enough.
They dropped the preceding "1". Everyone makes mistakes.
12 people have applied for this job so far.
TWELVE!
