"Confidence is the feeling you sometimes have before you fully understand the situation."
Life is short, Art is long, Occasion sudden and dangerous, Experience deceitful, and Judgment difficult - Hippocrates
Someone told me I was immature. Guess who’s not allowed in my tree house now.
Joseph Conrad was such an optimist!
“Facing it, always facing it, that’s the way to get through. Face it.”
“Droll thing life is -- that mysterious arrangement of merciless logic for a futile purpose. The most you can hope from it is some knowledge of yourself -- that comes too late -- a crop of inextinguishable regrets.”
Worry is the misuse of the imagination.
If it ain't broke, don't break it.
Upon being told that today was a really, really bad day, the appropriate response is: Yes, there are days like that. Then there will be some that are much worse.
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are loosing theirs and blaming it on you

Saw that on a church sign a couple of days ago.
Actually I was an Awesome Bill fan before he became awesome in 1985. Even bought an 85 thunderbird because of him.
The original town of Eddyville got its name because it was located just below the "big eddy" created by Eddy Creek emptying into the Cumberland River. I was born and still live on Eddy Creek and own about a mile of bottomland on it. When the Corps of Engineers built Barkley Dam on the Cumberland, they purchased all the property that would flood at summer pool el 359. I own the first piece on Eddy Creek they didn't buy.
When I formed my company, I named it Eddy Creek Surveying. So there you have it.
Those wounds run pretty deep......;-)

When I awoke this morning, I realized I am smarter today than I was yesterday. But it's only because I realized I wasn't as smart yesterday as I thought I was.
