Maybe just coincidence, but when they asked for the make and model of my car I told them an 05 Honda civic. He said "sorry, you do not qualify" and hung up. I haven't gotten any more car warranty calls since. Hmmmm

Got this email this morning. I'm really busy, does anyone want to take this over for me. . . . .
"My name is General Austin Scott Miller. I'm an American soldier,presently Serving in Afghanistan as US Army LT General commander here in Afghanistan, I'm very desperate in need for your assistance, I have decided to contact you for your kind assistance to receive the two military trunk boxes which contain the sum of $40, million united states dollars, that already arrived in the USA from Afghanistan, if I can be assured that my share will be safe in your care until I complete my service.
I want to invest this money and your assistance is urgently needed to accomplish this task. I am ready to compensate you with 30% of the $40 million USD for your assistance. I do not know how long we will remain here. I will explain further when I get a response from you."
Emails like that don't usually repeat, so I just delete and forget. The bigger annoyance is when you get on a repetitive list.
For the last couple weeks I have been getting 2 copies on each of 2 addresses of an email ad for each of several products. Mostly same products every day or twice a day. I can wake up to find a dozen of these.
Some junk mail has a legitimate Unsubscribe link that works. These don't. If you click the unsubscribe link you get a request to enter a 3-digit number, and it says successfully unsubscribed. After doing this for every such email for a week I see no change in the flood.
As an indication of how shady they are, the emails give a postal address that is different every time, often with an invalid zip code, of the form wxyz Oak St NY NY 10wxyz. Various street names and the same random digits both places. Yes, 6 digit zip if the random street address had 4.
Do these clowns actually get more sales by sending people the same thing umpteen times? Who buys this stuff?
Edit: while reading a few posts here and composinging this one, I got 4 more ads for the same quick-dry sandals, like I had deleted a few minutes ago. I have never in my life bought nor worn sandals, nor searched on line for them. Sandal ads have been arriving for over a week.
