BUMMER...DOUBLE BUMMER!

I met him once about 25 years ago, and saw him in concert several times over the years. One of Kind, and an incredible song writer.

RIP John.?ÿ

@loyal Ya, flew him out fishing once.   Was an honor, had been listening to his music for most of my life.

I worked all day in the field and most of the evening here on the screen without ever reading the news.?ÿ I just now read this post.?ÿ I'm brokenhearted.?ÿ The world will never be as bright of a place as it was with John.?ÿ ????ÿ

When I get to heaven I'm gonna be listening for the music.?ÿ That's where you'll find me.

@a-harris

Illegal Smile has been my ear worm the last few days.  A good one for sure.

I can remember buying Prine's self titled album with Your Flag Decal Won't Get You to Heaven at Korvettes in Paramus; not too many albums are remembered like that.  It was one of those albums that was played over and over, with the songs getting better with more listening.

He was a very talented artist.  I am glad he has been part of my life.

Mr. Harris - I replied before I realized your post gives us the whole album - thank you!

Two of my favorite song writer musicians, Townes Van Zandt and John Prine, were lost recently.?ÿ The world is a little colder for their loss.?ÿ Neither could sing worth a hoot but they sure wrote some great music.?ÿ RIP John, we'll miss you.

@andy-bruner

I'm reminded of the words that Robbie Robertson wrote in a song: "Just take what need and leave the rest, but they should never have taken the very best.."

@ken-salzmann

I have enjoyed John Prine since the early 70s and find it impossible to say there is a favorite song of his, so I chose a link that includes 274 of his songs.

Sad to hear. 73 is too young. But you have to admit he looked every single minute of it.?ÿ

@norman-oklahoma  I believe he had at least two bouts of cancer that he beat.  I noticed that he looked and sounded dramatically different the past few years and wondered if his cancer battles were the reason.
