Just looking for his grave. Likely to find it real soon.

Stephen, the guy posted the video to Youtube where the local Canadian police saw it, analyzed it, and determined the ownership of the bike. The bike belonged to the guy's mother. They seized the bike and arrested the son.

I was surprised by the control he had of the bike.

The bike is a Yamaha R1, I had one in college.
That kid has nerves of steel.

I know. I had seen it before.

My comment was my unorthodox way of pointing out his stupidity.

Most younger persons that end up dead by things other than disease, usually die of a severe case of "Terminal Stupidity", either on their part or someone else's part or both.

A friend of mine's son would do this to keep the local troopers busy just to amuse himself.

He was very good on a motorcycle, probably the best I've ever seen. He had the reflexes of a jungle cat with precision and timing that was amazing.

You could hear his motorcycle hit its powerband a few miles away and the race would be on for about 5 to 15 mins and then it would be over for a week or so.

Everyone knew who he was except the law. He would appear and disappear so quickly they did not have a chance to catch him in the act. He basically picked on the trooper with the worst habit of stalking people. There was not many around here that did not escape being a victim to the trooper. He was proven a big fat liar and run out of this area.

Bill had that trooper chasing a shadow on two wheels every time.

The trooper was the one that was dangerous on the road, he did not have the skills to catch him, just a badge.

Basically, local law enforcement did not have anything in their garage that would have been of use. They would have had to have been lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time to have caught him.

Nothing anyone that knew him said did anything to keep him from his play with troopers.

That kid was murdered a few years ago by a couple of thugs for his motorcycles, tv and some other household entertainment items.

The thugs were caught and their trial is pending.

The old saying is "you can outrun a cop car but you can't outrun a radio." A little team effort and he's caught.

186 mph will outrun a police helicopter (jet ranger tops out at ~140). And a radio is only useful if you have him in sight. You can most certainly outrun them on a bike and that's why most cops don't bother trying to chase.

You can't outrun a Motorola.

Yes you can if you get out of sight and take enough detours. It's more than a little possible. Wink Wink Nudge Nudge.

True. With a motorcycle, all you need is that 3 foot hole through the trees.

Around here (the greater D/FW metroplex), groups of bikers will take over entire expressways by blocking traffic so a few of their members can perform stunts.

Basically, it is a rolling roadblock with a few monkeys in the middle doing high speed wheelies, handstands, and other acts of random stupidity.

The police have made several arrests from identifying suspects from video cameras that moniter traffic flow.

These people are not the sharpest tools in the shed, but as I recall when I was young, I pretty much thought that I was bullet proof too.

I know a handful of people who own those rocket bikes and most of them have claimed to out run the police or, actually, the cops don't even waste their time with it. Of course we are only talking about the crime of reasonable speeding.

I know a guy (who will remain nameless to protect the guilty) who did it in a 1995 beretta with a 4 banger in it at approximately 2 a.m.

Perry & Phil

The story goes something like this:

At the end of a 5 day bender on the Sunday after July the 4th, 1996, two weary individuals were coming home after leaving their buddy at a girls house somewhere in Smith County, Texas, and near the intersection of Highways 204 and 110, they noticed their speed somewhere in excess of 90 mph as they passed a highway patrol on the side of the road. Now, it's well known that it's nearly impossible to out run the radio and a police interceptor, however, in this case, the decision was made that, because the two were already traveling so fast, that if the vehicle was driven to the governor's limit, that, the trooper would need to travel up to that speed to stop the expansion and then have to travel MUCH faster to close the gap, all the while knowing, the two weary travelers were a mere four miles from the driveway.

So, as I mentioned, the decision was made the the accelerator pushed to the floor and the governor shut them down and maintained a speed of approximately 103.

It should be noted that the driveway was at the top of a large hill around a curve, and as the two weary travelers (now wide awake from adrenaline surely) power braked and slid like the Fast and Furious, Tokyo Drift, into the driveway and then went down the mountain toward the pond, they noted they had a grand total of 15 seconds after exiting and shutting the vehicle down before the Doppler effect was shown as the sirens got louder and then fainter as the trooper drove by at what must have been over 130 mph.

I feel confident, from the story of course, that the trooper never got close enough to identify the vehicle or plates, and the story may have been relayed to the trooper some years later, after the statute of limitations on the offense had run out.

🙂

That exact thing happened on a interstate in Florida (near Tampa, I think), although I don't think he was going that fast. Just lane splitting. An Explorer changed lanes at the wrong time, the guy went through the back window and ended up dead in the back seat of the Explorer.
