Who's up for a BeerLegger in Portland during the PLSO Conference? It runs January 22 thru 24, 2020.
I'm thinking Wednesday is the best day, even though there's an exhibitor's reception at 5pm. Thursday evening is the scholarship auction, so that will go late (plus it's a lot of fun). Friday is out because we've tried that before but most people wanted to go home by then. So as of right now, I'm thinking Wednesday night at 6pm at a nearby hangout, maybe the restaurant/bar in the hotel. Here's the schedule: https://www.plso.org/2020Seminars
What do you think? Anyone want to do this? I'm game.
It's at the Airport Sheraton, so it isn't exactly beer hall central. I'm sure that the hotel itself will be nice. You can put me down for that.

Yeah big daddy-o, I'm in like Flynn. Let's do 'er to 'er, manure. It'll be fun.
I will be at conference, BUT as an exhibitor will need to show up AFTER the exhibitor's reception.

Depending on when/where the meetup is, I'll try stopping by. ?ÿI'll probably start at the exhibitor social and make my way towards the Young Surveyors Network Meet-up. ?ÿ

Cheers, Eli
Jean and I should be there!
We are going to try to be there early, maybe to grab a bite to eat at the hotel. I'd say just come over whenever you wanna come over. Hopefully we'll be there. 🙂
I was thinking that this would be a nice trip for me and SWMBO, especially to meet some of the renegades on here. That is, until SWMBO reminded me it is JANUARY at the North Pole where the Convention is. My winter wardrobe ensemble consists of one pair of long socks and a windbreaker. I wouldn't make it. I'd have the "Big One" as soon as I stepped off the plane. Be nice to plan for a Beerlegger somewhere in a central location though. (where snow shows up for a day or so only)

@flga
The temperatures are very mild in the Pacific Northwest. We have 2 weeks of Winter; 2 weeks of Summer; and the rest of the time it's Spring or Fall.
Today's high will be 51 with scattered showers.
Come on up, it'll be fun!
@flga
Gonna tell ya what silly people who snow ski or canoe try to tell me:?ÿ "Aw, try it once, you might like it."
@flga
It's not nearly that bad, as Radar points out. But January isn't the month I'd recommend for a first visit.

Hey, it's in the Pacific Northwest, not in Montana, Minnesota, or even Missouri.?ÿ It shouldn't be too bad there. ?ÿ See HC's post this morning about temperatures in SE Kansas for weather to avoid (Iowa is similar today).
I prefer it to blazing hot and/or blazing hot/humid.?ÿ
Amen...
PLSO BeerLegger is tonight at 6pm (but we're going to try to get there sooner)! Hope to see you there.

The photo above only represents a portion of the people who attended -- I think we had a total of around 12 guests, with about 8 or 9 in the room at any given time. As expected, it was a great time and it was fun to catch up with you all! It was brought to our attention that we hadn't attended a PLSO Conference for 6 years! ???ý?ÿ
It is always nice to get together with good folks. Wendell and Angel were their normal "chipper" selves.
Thank You Mike Berry (back right) for bring Jean the "bag o weed" (eastern Oregon sage brush).

My pleasure Joe. It was great seeing y??all. It??s noteworthy that in this photo, ?ÿyou, Parnelli and Scott Freshwaters are all former PLSO Surveyors of the Year. I was keepomg company with a very esteemed group that night.
Thanks Wendell and Angel for putting this together. Next year??s conference is in Salem... a much shorter drive for you?ÿ
