Beer Run

Our local NPR station had a fund drive not long ago that set a goal for the number of new donors rather than a dollar amount. I think that worked well for them. A lot of people joined, and even with smaller donations, the volume was such that the drive was very successful.

I may be wrong, but I think that pointing out the amount of ones donation, particularly if it is significant, may be discouraging to people who would like to contribute, but are unable give that much.

I know that Wendell and Angel are gratified by every modest effort. Don't feel that your contribution isn't important or appreciated.

Indeed, you stated that very well. We appreciate any amount because it all helps us pay the bills.

OKAY everyone... last week. I made my donation! (size XL). Thanks to Wendell and Angel for all they do and providing this to us. Let's not miss this easy goal of $495. Actually... now it is $395. WE can do it! Any amount will definitely help!

Actually I don't have it to throw around. Wish I did. My thought is how much do I visit this site and don't pay a thing. So I will let something else wait while I share with this site. I feel it's important to contribute so we know this site will continue on.

Considering the free advice and support that is given here for technical, software, hardware and legal opinions, a contribution like Scott made is a real steal of a deal.

RE: BEER-AIDE! All we need is a ten or a fiver

It is all about the donations... NPR, AFR, AFA, CPR! I wasn't bragging about what I could give. Not offended either. My thought was there are over 2600 users (registered 2643) on here each month and if each gave just $2 a month (1 can of soda pop) or $24 a year, this site would have over $5200 a month. I haven't contributed any in awhile, so I was just paying up. Like stated before "Any amount helps!". 5 more days to reach the GOAL!+o(

Holy moly! You did it! We're up to $5,157.77 thanks to your awesome generosity.

And yeah, some wise guy sent $77.77 (you know who you are). 😉

Even though we've reached our goal, the incentives still apply. Several people hit the beer mug level and only a few more and we'll get a pretty big price break based on quantity, so I'm not placing the order for a few more days, just in case.

When I place the orders for the various items, I will try my best to find the most cost-effective price point for quantity. What this means is that there will likely be at least a few of each item unclaimed. At some point after all the orders go out, I will inventory what's left and we will continue to honor the incentives until they are all gone.

Just to be clear about it, these goodies will be limited and will only be obtainable via donations as specified in the first post, by purchasing them from us at a BeerLegger (or other event we attend) or by possibly winning them in some sort of silly contest. We won't be selling them at whatever regular retail would be.

Also expect to see some previews in the near future of the goodies that haven't already been posted.

We appreciate any and all donations received regardless of amount and really, really, really appreciate your support. Thank you once again from the bottom of my heart.
