BeerAid ~ a little simple math

> > Maybe 100 different individuals? ...
>
> Okay, so if each of us 100 donors contributed $110 each year, then we would raise about $11,000.

$120/ea would have been much more simpler math for us "button pushers" that go month to month.

BeerAid - 2 cents

You should make a fundraiser thermometer, maybe with a surveyor theme.

Yeah, how about a thermometer made out of a purty fancy North arrow!

> Maybe 100 different individuals? Over the years, there are many that have sent more than one donation though.

As soon as you answer my message to you, I will implement the answer and add my name to the multiple donations list.

Or something with a range pole, level rod, and / or a gammon reel.

You aren't busy doing anything else are ya?

I do think that some sort of thermometer on the main page would be nice.

Of course the goal is to encourage donations, and not to discourage them.

I wonder what the human psychology says about these ideas?

> We really love working on the site and have no intention of giving it up whether you donate or not. But we would certainly appreciate your assistance if you are willing to help us out. We love you guys! 🙂

Okay, I sent you a C-note via PayPal, but send that t-shirt to one of the needy surveyors who don't already have everything.

All right, I kicked in a C-note, too. I already have everything but I'll take Kent's T-shirt if you can get it to me by July 19th so I can wear it on RAGBRAI.

I also want a coozie so I can hold it up in photos like the other guys do.

Wendell might appreciate the RAGBRAI photo of the day.

Done deal here too. Thanks for the awesome web site Wendell.

I'd love some stickers only so I can put them on my crew trucks and advertise for you.

Sorry for your loss & God bless from all of us at TerraCalc Land Surveying.

😉

BeerAid -- UPDATE

UPDATE

THANK YOU to everyone who has donated thus far! We are making good progress and we've got less than two weeks remaining to reach our goal. Remember, if we make our goal of $5,000 in donations, we'll order the incentive goodies and mail them out to those who have not declined them. 🙂

Some people have emailed us and asked if we'd consider doing away with the incentive items since many folks have specifically requested that we not send them. But I'd like to make a case for having the goodies made: We use them as marketing tools to reach more people and bring more traffic to the site. How does this benefit us? Well, the increase in traffic makes it more viable for advertisers to invest in us. Basically, you have to spend money to make money and this is the position we are in.

Furthermore, I decided to go ahead and order the stickers since I had a coupon code from a previous order and got a really nice discount. I've also setup the order for the koozies but probably will not place it unless we reach our goal (or get very close to it). Here are some previews of these two items:

The sticker (3" diameter):

The koozie (rough approximation):

BeerAid -- UPDATE

Done. Sorry for the delay. No swag required here either. As others have posted, I read for more than I post. I have found answers to questions I didn't even know I had on here. Keeping the site rolling is the only swag I need. Thank you for all you do Wendell and Angel!

How much for the full swag set?

This site pushed me over the edge on going back to school and finally getting a great surveying job I can be proud of. It also provides great help and laughter for the developing surveyor (one man crews are doing some harm despite increasing profit). I don't have any swag and want to get the site out to my uneducated brethren.

You guys are awesome. I, for one, appreciate the "we'll do it anyway" attitude (that some/most of us have about surveying), but understand that help helps. Please keep it up!

one man crews are great
one man operations are concerning

generally i can get more work done in one day with a robot or GPS than my two man crew.

> How much for the full swag set?

Good idea! I've added a donation level for $300 to receive all items. 🙂

We truly appreciate your efforts in getting the word out. This is something we try to do almost every day and it does seem to be picking up some steam, slowly but surely.

Thanks! It's awesome people like you that keep us wanting to do it. Taking care of the site has had it's highs and lows, but much of it was a learning experience. We are in a good place now and enjoy "working" here more than ever. Now we can concentrate on bringing more surveyors here.
