I will admit that this day arrived much sooner than I ever anticipated. Had I made my own guess even a month ago, it probably would have been in May or June. Even on Day 1 (June 30, 2010), if you had told me we'd be at 1,000 on our one-year anniversary, I would have said you were crazy. And here we are, over two months earlier than that.
Anyway, I'll bet you're all wondering when the magic moment occurred and, even more so, who won the prize for selection of the 1,000th user contest posted here: [msg]57647[/msg]. Well, wait no longer! The exact moment the 1,000th user confirmed his/her account was:
Fri, 22 Apr 2011 10:13:16
There were several close guesses. I would consider anything within a few days of the actual event above a pretty darn good guess. But there's only one winner and he is:
Congratulations, David!
  :gift:
Let's further evaluate his guessing strategy, shall we?
Actual event:
Fri, 22 Apr 2011 10:13:16
- Year is 2011; 2 + 0 + 1 + 1 = 4
- Month is 4
- Day of month is 22; 2 + 2 = 4
- Time is 10:13:16; all digits added up equal 12, which is divisible by 4.
surv8r's guess:
Fri, 22 Apr 2011 20:51
- surv8r's user number is 4
Coincidence? I think not. 😉
Okay, maybe I'm over-thinking it...
So.... You are saying he guessed correctly within 7 hours?
That's pretty dayum incredible. When did we pick these dates?
EDIT/ADD: I see now that I had CONTESTS toggled off for some reason. Still not too shabby.
Yeah!
When did he guess!
Would have been pretty easy around the 980
Mark to do!

WENDELL...all that math is nice but
Carl's user # is 13 , 1 + 3 = 4 and Carl lost...why is that??

I lost because I didn't have the "CONTESTS" category on is the simple answer.
I don't think I would have won anyway... I'm just not a "WINNER" (Charlie Sheen scratch voice)
And... I had the power of the unlucky number 13 all over me... 😉
Is that enough examples, Paul?
😛 😉

Well, it will do for now Carl:drink:
Wow..... keep it up and you'll have your own show on the history channel at odark 30.....;-)

*whew* Good!
:good: Now it's :beer::30
Those last 20 came through amazingly fast. I'm guessing some were holding out to take a shot a being number 1000. BTW, who is #1000?
Carl...
Your still a winner in my book, Carl. 😉
And hey, the #13 ain't so bad. It's my LUCKY #!! Of course it is also my birth date, but thta # has brought me more good luck than any other #!!
999 and 1000
999 was my son Kristofer. Been working for me for about 4 years now. He loves the field work part of what we do and the tight knit family of Surveying.
1000 was my wife Jean. I met her in 1980, we both worked for the Oregon Dept of Transportation. We have both been surveying for over 30 years. It is a rare blessing to find someone that loves the work as much as I do and is also my life partner.
They have both been looking over my shoulder when I am logged on and wanted to be part of the fun!
999 and 1000
Excellent:good:
Don
999 and 1000 - Joe
That is a great post! :hi5:
Outstanding Joe
Welcome Kristofer and Jean.:-)
Oh dang!! All this numerology about 4/22 reminds me it's my Dad's birthday. Guess I need to call. Knowing him he's probably out of the country or playing golf at some other high phaluting (sp?) course. No doubt Granny will give me an ear full about it after she's done talking about he weather.
numerology?

My birthday was April 7, 2011...
On my way to work I stopped at the light at Green Mountain and Rodney Parham Road in Little Rock...
I glanced down at the odometer of my 10 year old Ford 150...
88,888.7 miles...
The light turned green and as I pulled through the intersection...the point seven turned into point eight...
I pulled into the parking lot of the Pleasant Vally Liquor store (where I stop every afternoon to pick up my buddy Hiram Walker (Peach Brandy)...
I wanted a picture so I pulled out my cell phone...and the National Anthem started playing on the radio...
It dawned on me that I was in a 10 year old truck...on my 56th birthday...
Wait...1056 is my PLS license number...arrrgggg...
(the National Anthem played in the background)
A cell phone picture of 88888.8...
And since 1056 feet equal a FIFTH of a mile...took a picture of the liquor store window...with all them fifths...
(the National Anthem played in the background)
My birthday...2011...two zero one one...a pair of ones...
The odometer had the eights...
A poker hand of Aces and Eights...on my birthday...
(the National Anthem played in the background)
A Dead Man's hand...on my birthday...a fifth...in a 10 year old truck...on my way to work...in the dark...(6:00am)
(the National Anthem played in the background)
Since I already have a Beer Leg mug and a Beer Leg koozie...I did not buy any lottery tickets...
DDSM;-)
Congratulations to the winner.
Man, I was way off.
999 and 1000
