I was at a shopping center at dawn so I could use GPS to get a section corner, which unfortunately happens to be in one of the driving lanes of a busy road, but not at 6:20 am. I had two tall traffic cones and three middle sized ones, and traffic was really light, so no problem. I get back to the base, hidden in sort of a box canyon between a tall wall, tall wood fence, and a building. And what had they stolen from the red suitcases? The two rubber ducky antennas and the two short antenna cables, which I seldom use. Can't be worth $100 brand new, maybe $2 at a pawn shop. They left the $30,000 base station untouched, so they were probably on foot.
So, anyway, I'm thinking of getting a Brinno time lapse camera. They are only $180 or so, runs on batteries, and takes tons of time lapse photos, say every 5 seconds. Real easy to hide.

Easy to hide, but if found east to steal.

You sure you put them back last time you used them?
Actually $100 is probably too low, anyway it does seem odd that nothing else walked. I never leave the cases unless I am pretty sure no other humans will be there, I also take the height hook and the controller, if somebody rips me off, they aren't going to have a complete system when they try to sell it to the pawn shop.
SHG
True...
But I've found in remote areas they usually have plenty of time to look things over.
With that realization, I've been having lots of fun playing hide the game camera!
Getting more and more difficult to abide theives for me as time goes on.... with the lack of consequences on the part of most law enforcement and the courts.... they seem to be breeding as fast as pantry beetles... :pissed:
