We can dish it out, but can we take it.

Some, or many, of us here at Beerleg/Surveyorconnect have habits that are annoying to others. Here's a chance to point out a few pet peeves that are specific to certain posters. Some do these annoying things on purpose. Others do them without realizing they are being annoying. Some think they are being cute.

Who/what gets to you? Why?

I'm sure there are plenty out there who get annoyed with me and my close association with the spelling police.

I love to insert quotes whether they're (not their or there) needed or not (not knot).

Quite often, but not always, but sometimes, I will use a few too many commas, or other punctuation marks, in what should be, but isn't, a simple sentence.

Despite attempts to correct this habit, I frequently put the end of the sentence at the start of the sentence, just as I am doing in this sentence.

Any or all of those quirks may annoy the casual reader.

So, who does these little things that you find annoying?

Folks who answer a post with the assumption that the person asking the question intends to subvert all natural law with any answer that might be offered. This invariably derails the thread from "how do I draw a line from a point to a point?" into a discussion of theoretical physics. It makes the poster of the question qualify the question to keep things on track. See my post this morning asking about a raster image as an example.
A word of caution is sometimes appropriate, but sometimes I just want to draw a line. Maybe "PJA" (Professional Judgement Assumed) could be tagged to an answer in these cases.

I guess I'm too layed back to let anybody's idiosyncrasies bug me. I enjoy almost all the posts I read here. I never miss a chance to let everybody else know how stupid I am.

We are definitely an opinionated bunch. I'll almost bet a whole paycheck that other professions couldn't carry on an argument for two days about ice water...

What bothers me? Those posters that insult others practice, while knowing nothing about their situation or their states survey laws. There was some clown on here a few months ago insulted several of us, calling us unprofessional, yet he lived in the Phillipines.

Your quote reminds me of one attributed to John Wayne:

"Life is hard, it's even harder if you're stupid".

By the way, I too am kinda thick skinned. I sometimes show my ignorance, especially of the methods and laws used in other states.

Ever consistently out-drive the pants off of someone by 100 yds during a round of golf, only to have them say over beers at the clubhouse:
"I think if you turn your right elbow in a little bit it might straighten that backswing".

That gets me going. If you are a poster here and you do that...stop.
Thank you.

Folks who are wound a little to tight and take everything a bit to seriously, including themselves.

It's important to remember that what is said is only half the conversation, how it is received, or how the "receiver" chooses to receive it is what really matters. and MOST of the stuff can be taken with a GRIN ON YOUR FACE!

It's really not personal, or like the godfather finally admitted, "it is all personal!" How it you take it is what's important.

Yeah buts you gots a live spell checker livin wit you.;-)

With respect to the overall content of your post I have no doubts there are more than a few whom dislike my posts. I’m with Paden on this just laid back and loving every day. However if I do ever offend any of y’all it was meant in good humor but if it was offensive tell me, my email works.

Have a great week! B-)

Their are too things that I have found to be irratatoring and aggavateing recently.
One, posters who question another poster’s reading comprehension when in fact they need two reexamine there own reply’s .
too, posterer whose accuses another postee of being airrogent and show that they are thus being airrogent and do not do nothing about it.
I do welcome vocabularry usage spelling and grammer corrections,

I did the same as you; read it once, and just saw one thing....then I read it again and "got the joke" more fully.;-)

(I'm sure I didn't highlight all of them)
