I see my Christmas City post is gone.

That is your perogative, but I cannot understand not being informed about it.

It appeared to be going along with over 90% positive comments.

I must have missed some of your board members going Postal. I did catch the TEDD comment, but elected to ignore it. I guess I might have missed my final hurrah.

My hope is that Wendell has responded to you privately, as you should have addressed him.
Not that I care, but really, get over it.

No Problem, The Christmas City USA Postmark Is Back

Quote in today's paper from a U.S. Postal Service spokesman,

"In hindsight, they realized it was a mistake."

Other information in the article:

The Christmas City postmark was originated in 1937. So they messed up on it's 75th anniversary.

There are several dozen Christmas themed named cities in the US with special postmarks;

Nazareth, PA, I did not know that

North Pole, NY, We've been there, deep in the Adirondack ski area, not far from Paul Smiths College and Lake Placid (my sister was married there)

Christmas, FL, on our list to visit June 2013. Our niece lives in Orange County, meaning they can get discount tickets for any attraction in the county. When we were down for her eldest son's graduation (fireworks included in the Orlando Magic arena) we spent several days at Sea World. For my Godson's graduation we will hit Universal Studio where he works part time.

In reply to Don, yesterday I emailed Wendell on another matter and had a reply in minutes. I posted this queery on the board because I thought others might also be wondering.

Angel, thanks for the heads up.

Make sure to visit the Fort Christmas museum.

It's about the only thing in that town besides the post office.

I'm sorry if you felt my post was un-civil. 99% of us are following the house rules, but there always has to be that 1% that wants to get away with injecting P&R where it doesn't have to be.

The OP could have easily lamented the change in the PO letter cancellation without turning it into a religious rant.

Happy Holidays!

Say Paul,

Didn't Wendell resign as a moderator sometime ago?

Not that anyone asked, but I would not have a problem if there were a R category for people of faith (or not) to have R discussions if they wanted to. I think people in general respect each others difference of opinion on R better than they do P (here).

Also, I am sort of a techtard. What is the purpose of the code button next to the reply window?

No Problem

Yea LPL but you got Joe's thoughtful and sensitive post nixed last night by your political trollish post. I guess you feel good about that in some odd way since you haven't mentioned it.

We have thought about this as I enjoy a nice PEACEFUL discussion about different religions (or athiesims), customs, etc... Plus I do not see a problem asking others for prayer, good thoughts, etc... and mourning together when we lose one of our guys. (Like Sinc. :'( )

I'll ask the boss and see what he says. :-$

Why Should I Feel Good About It?

Yes, it was the wrong spot for that reply.

I ask you, why should anybody feel good about what happened?

Say Paul,

No, I took a temporary break.

Now with P&R gone, the better half takes care of most of it now.

It was wrong reply not spot. It was a blatant P& R post. period.

Your rhetorical question to me is ludicrous also.

No further reply is neccesary.

Soon as I posted this I got a few emails begging us NOT to have this category, plus the boss doesn't want to deal with it. He says it will bleed over into politics and he isn't going that route anymore plus some of our advertisers do NOT want P&R ANYTHING on here so... It's a No Go. Sorry. :-/

No problem, it was just a thought.
