Good Day Friends,
My shop has been issued new TSC3 controllers. Aside from the basic user settings, they're already programmed for us. As we conduct survey work utilizing Trimble S6 (robotics) or with R8 GNSS we are not receiving voice notifications. As we all know, communication is very useful to have, especially when being hundreds of feet away from the station. Is there a way to activate the voice on the TSC3 controller? Could it be possible that something was left out during the software installation? Is a language pack missing? etc. Your insight on the topic is much appreciated, thanks.

Try this. I assume you are using Access. Under settings, select Language, check Play Sound Events. There should be wav files in the Program FilesGeneral SurveyLanguagesEnglish folder

Exit the Access program and check the volume setting in Windows. Quite likely it is turned all the way down. BTW, setting the system volume to zero is the best way to shut her up.
Thanks for the feedback gentlemen, Volume is on and at full power, but I did check the program file folder and the "LanguagesEnglish folder" is missing. There are miscellaneous file, but nothing referring to English. It's odd that these files are missing. We still have a TSC2 and it speaks volumes to us. Do you guys recommend reinstalling firmware? We are currently using 3.0.2 (build 115) firmware.
I have no unit with me, but this can be done from within acces, i guess you need the device connected to a pc with internet connection to download the pack from trimble.com. Should be somewhere in the help files...
Chr.
You need to connect it to a PC, run Trimble Installation Manager, and make sure English is checked.
We lovingly refer to her as the Trimble Slut
"no target-target locked, no target-target locked, no target-target locked"
Are you sure you want to hear that all day? 😉
Not as bad as go left go right go left go right.....when you are right on the point.

When I demoed mine, that was one thing I demanded prior to purchasing.....Tell me how to shut her up. Now when I get a drop of rain in the speaker on the tablet, I kind of miss her babbling on in the background.
"No taget - target locked" drives me crazy!!!
You can get some strange looks from bystanders if you stand there leaning the rod forward and back. "Go in, go out, go in, go out".
Thanks guys, hilarious feedback. I'll see what I can do. I'll keep ya posted.
