Hello everyone,
I just picked up a used Trimble 5800 and am having trouble setting it up as a network rover. I have a Tsc2 with survey controller that is currently set up as a network rover with a 5700 via a WiFi hotspot.
Does anyone care to share the receiver settings and a survey style that will work? Do I change the receiver setting with the data collector or with the gps configuration program?
Thanks,
Gregg
Are you using Survey Controller Or Access?
I would think you would be able to use the same RTN settings as your 5700. You can set everything up using the data collector.
I know with the TSC2's we had to dumb down the MIFI's from 4g to 3g.
I can send you a copy of my cheat sheets when I get back in the office on Monday...if you don't get it figured out before then.
I think you need survey controller version 12.49 minum to connect to network. May want to look into that. Good luck.
I believe I do have Survey Controller 12.49 since I'm already using that collector as part of my 5700 network rover.
Beav, I'm using survey controller and I am using a mifi as well. I'd love a copy of that cheat sheet when you get a chance. Thanks.
I'm the meantime I will try again tomorrow. The survey style I'm using for it is a copy of the style I use with the 5700. The only thing I changed was the antenna.
I think I'm all set. It was a Bluetooth issue. I had to edit the controller settings. It seems to be working but I wasn't able to obtain lock because the DC was dying. I'll charge it and test again tomorrow. Thanks for the responses.
One more question. The firmware on this unit is version 2.21. Is there any reason to update it?

Did you do a scan and add the 5800 in the bluetooth settings?
I found one of my Survey Controller cheat sheets on my home computer.

Never mind...
I see you got it figured out while I was typing.:-D
Thanks Beavers.
