Looking to add a network rover to the toolbox and already own a surveyor2. Anyone using this combo having any problems? Also, will the brx5 connect using Verizon?
Thanks in advance!
Pretty sure you have to use a MiFi with Verizon. I have the surveyor 2 and BrX5 units as we've been tossing the idea of a network unit.
My BRx6 connects with AT&T. No issues, as long as there is cell phone coverage.

N.W. Staker is correct; the BRx6 internal modem will only work with GSM carriers (AT&T/T-Mobile). However a Verizon MiFi works well with the Surveyor2, using either a BRx5 or BRx6; just use a SECO cell phone pouch to keep the MiFi on the pole.
I run a Carlson Surveyor+ and looked at those units extensively along with Champion GPS out of Georgia and Sokkia Bullet, Topcon GPS. I ended up buying the CHC x91+ from Mark Silver at Igage. I bought at full enabled base/rover pair for less that what you are looking at for just the network. I spent $12,524 for the pair. They have a Network rover for $6532 which is the single CHC x91+. They have the Trimble BD-970 220-Channel board in them with 4-constellation GPS+GLO+GAL+BDU, fully enabled and that is with L5 also by the way. I can not say enough good things about them or Mark Silver. They also have the 1 watt satel radios in them. To beat it all I got 24 month 0% financing. I run a Verizon MiFI with both of Mine. I run base rover sometimes and run two networks sometimes. I have a very good friend that I buy all my other equipment from, Troy Deaton, and he agreed it was just to good of a deal to pass up. The same enabled Topcon GPS Base/Rover is $48,000. For a small firm like mine this is great. I am about to pay them off and buy another single unit to use as Single base broadcasting to Two Rovers. I by the way get nothing from this, I do not sell equipment. I just think It is the best deal out there. I looked and studied for a year before my wife let the purse strings go! 🙂
