Here is a conversation with a friend from Friday. ?ÿI was hoping to be able to just turn on my CS2 (Allegro) and automatically be connected to the internet without having to connect through my iPhone hot spot.
Wondering if you all have any other helpful thoughts?
Happy Friday, Friend!
I am going to take my Carlson Surveyor 2 to my local AT&T store to have them put in a SIM card and treat it like a Windows Mobile Device Tablet.
Comments, thoughts, suggestions?
Happy Friday!

It is by a 3G modem and they will not be able to activate.
Try to get a dedicated hotspot. But they may be out, there has been a run on them with the 3G sunset.
How about those thoughts?

Thank you. ?ÿSaved me a trip to the att store.
Sad Good Friday.
Happy Easter Weekend!
Thank you. ?ÿI appreciate you.

You used to be able to get a WiFi card that plugged into a USB port.?ÿ A little bulky, but maybe a fix....
Regarding the ??dedicated hotspot? option:
Its my understanding that the CS2 is 3G compatible, not 5G compatible.?ÿ If my understanding is correct, a SIM card won't help with your issue.?ÿ The 3G network is no longer supported by AT&T.?ÿ WiFi connection via a hotspot is the work-around for 3G data collectors.?ÿ For Trimble products, the iPhone doesn't work.?ÿ We had to get hotspots from AT&T.?ÿ We have unlimited data & put the hotspots on that plan.?ÿ The hotspots are 3.5" X 3.5" and fit in your vest pocket comfortably. Our only issue is walking away from the rover head with the hotspot still in our pocket.
FYI, our Leica CS15's are still working, using their 3G modems and AT&T SIM cards.?ÿ I'd thought that we'd have been SOL by mid March, but they're still going.
We already configured our cell phone hot spots, and they work with the CS15's.?ÿ But until they do stop, we'll keep using the internal 3G modems.
