I have a Topcon hiper lite + with a f915 internal radio that I should get 1.5 miles range but I am only getting a 1000' or so out of it in wide open areas. I am running surv ce on the collector the radio setting on the collector is set to internal spread spectrum (that's what dealer said use) but should it be the f915? any ideas or solutions?

My guess is that your radio modem or modems are going bad. Your dealer can check the output and condition of the boards, but could be expensive.

Have you previously gotten good range from the units? Has the range been dimishing slowy?

Sounds like bull, I have a hiper lite+ with a tds ranger and get 7000 feet easily in open areas now if there are hills with valleys or heavy tree coverage you can have problems but not at 1000 feet. I had a radio board go out on me once but it just stopped. If thats the problem the cost was $2300.
