The launch of 2 Galileo satellites into incorrect orbits has been halfway repaired.
One of the satellites has been repositioned enough to give useable but not ideal broadcasts. Last week it was used to get a 2 meter GPS fix along with 3 of the earlier test satellites. The fourth test satellite has had antenna problems and will be able to broadcast E1, but not E2 and E5 signals. The second misplaced satellite has been in the process of repositioning and may become useable next month.
Early next year 2 more Galileos will be launched. Progress is slower than anticipated but it is progress. Expect 12 useable Galileo in 2016 when it may affect improvement in GNSS positioning.
When it comes time to make end of year 2015 buying decisions, a Galileo upgrade might be considered.
