Just be sure you know how high that is.
I think 2.1m is the standard height limit on drive-throughs like Maccas and The Colonel's. When we have something on top, we put a reminder/warning tag inside the chariot.
Doesn't look fun to store though.
What type of data collection do you use it for?
@toivo1037 really not bad.
@bushaxe so far, just for transporting it from boundary point to boundary point. ?ÿIt is much quicker since it keeps a fix while traveling between points. ?ÿBefore, it would often lose lock by laying it down inside the truck bed.
Also, I am enjoying my truck upgrade, too. ?ÿAlthough, she is expensive to drive (just in regular gas alone 7.9 MPG).?ÿ
Have you tried a tri mag mount on the roof?
Was heading into a courthouse recently when I saw a vehicle about 50 feet away mounted up that way.?ÿ Went inside to track down a fellow surveyor.?ÿ Didn't take long.?ÿ Something about that flo-green vest makes it easy to track.
There's a bridge like this in Pierre, SD. Modern day GPS in vehicles and on phones doesn't deter drivers from going under the short bridge and the lights and signs don't do much good. While I was in SD, I witness 2 trucks try to drive under the short bridge and proceed to "open the can" on the back end of their trucks.
I know the bridge has a FB page but I'm not sure what it's called at this moment.

It must be an old receiver if you have a long wait to reinitialize. And just 8 mpg? It must be set running when it doesn??t need to be. You have no cap. My 2016 Silverado with all metal cap gets 17 and I live in a cold weather state.?ÿ
My boss needs to invest in this. He also needs one for the Polaris. I dont know how many times he has smacked his shin with the pole he is holding as he is driving. As for old equipment, my boss uses topcon fc5000. I use the fc500. The 500 uses windows Vista, one of the worst operating systems. We just bought a 6000, but he hasn't made it to the at&t store to get a sim card for it. I can't wait to upgrade to the?ÿ 5000. Just scrolling through points boggs down the 500.
My 2005 Silverado 1500 gets 13mpg US including idle time and short trips. Can get 17-18 on a long trip. It's only a 4.8 4 speed and I basically have to leave it in 3rd unless I remove all the survey gear or it will downshift on every little grade. The coldest times of winter it's probably down to 10mpg when it's left idling for a good chunk of the day while I do notes.?ÿ
One of our crews has a 2018 f150 with 5.0 and 10 speed. It probably gets significantly better mileage but it will likely be in the junkyard and my 2005 will still be going in another 10 years.?ÿ
