Hi, I saw the Javad booth at the PLSO (Oregon) Conference last week and am considering purchase of a Triumph-2 RTN capable system.
I see lots of posts about the top of the line LS system, but not much about the -2.
Any current users that would can share their experiences would be a great help.
Thanks,
Bill
I have one. I use it as a base, paired with a radio (bluetooth between T-2, and radio). With a Javad LS.
But, what I suspect you are thinking of is a different application, than I am using.
Many are configured like me.
Others around, use them with smart phone apps.
That's all...

Thank you both.
Any comments about the system?
Sorry but I do not have any comments on the system. I think it would be a very good little light weight system. I love how Javad is not tied to a traditional data collector giving the end user much more flexibility.?ÿ

Hi Bill, good chatting with you at the confrence. I may be wrong, BUT I suspect the model you are looking at is pretty capable, although without all the features of the flagship model, after all I believe Javad packages the two together as a base-rover package, so measurement engine wise the Triumph-2 must have all the horsepower the LS requires, yes??ÿ

The Triumph 2 can be used as RTK rover with a network.?ÿ Either Ntrip or RCV protocol.?ÿ You need a hotspot (dedicated or on your phone).?ÿ If your network is using glonass as well as gps, then get the glonass option and you will get much better results.?ÿ If not, you may have trouble without a local base.?ÿ Even with local base I would want glonass as well.?ÿ There's an android or iPhone app that allows use of phone as controller, but I think you can use Carlson survCE also (with gps option on), and maybe others. I use it mostly as base or static so can't really tell you rtk rover experiences with it.?ÿ But generally that will depend on distance to CORS (less than 5 miles is desired for all precise work any reciever), glonass/gps or gps only, and availability of cell coverage.?ÿ You will get the "beast mode" for faster collection over the network.?ÿ You will miss out on the software of the LS that allows actual analysis and quality control of rtk surveying.
Howdy Bill, up until a little over a year ago I had a full time employee. I often sent him out with my Triumph 2 to set control for robotic work. It works well for topo and locations in the open as well. It is very light weight and portable. Since going solo I have not used it once as a rover but as a base only.?ÿ
Thank you all for your input, I have decided to give it a try; wish me luck!
Give feedback... Let us know how it goes.

What DC and software do you need to preform RTK/RTN with Triumph 2?
I use my Android phone & Javad's Mobile tools software ($200 app also available for Apple).
Although I'm still a new user, I've been getting a lot of work done with it.
Thanks, so you can collect rtk shots with android app? The brochure I saw online wasn't clear, it looked like it was just for static.
Yes, RTK/RTN with Android app
