I am looking at buying a topcon gps with glonass capability but it is not activated I am wondering how do you activate it and how much it costs to do so?

Talk to a dealer, but it probably involves $$$$ - lots of them

Ask a dealer about an Option Authorization File or OAF. Last time I checked on a HIPER (about a year ago) it was in the vicinity of $1,000 / unit and can be done by an upload from your PC.

Those of you who have the GLONASS enabled on your receivers, Is it worth the extra money? I have heard that its not exactly a night and day difference.

The thing I notice most is that it retains initialization under much more canopy than GPS alone.
