I inadvertently tried to run a 3-minute file last week and got a message saying it needed 7-1/2 minutes minimum.

Really? That is good to know! I always presumed that the 15 minute warning on their page was accurate. Guess they buffaloed me. Going to have to burn an 8 minute session just to try this out.

Jim, in case you thought that was sarcasm, it was not. Once I accidentally submitted a full OPUS that was less than a minute under the 2 hour minute and it got kicked. I just assumed the RS warning was true too. Now I am curious on how close an 8 minute session would be.

Earlier this year I was working on a power line staking job for an engineer/surveyor, he had set a few control points and occupied them with his CHC X900 for 15 minutes and used OPUS to get UTM coordinates. Later on this job I used his CHC X900 along side my CHC X91+ and occupied more points I had set for control for about 20 minutes, all the X900 OPUS solutions were solved but all the X91+ solutions failed, I checked the solutions of the X900 with RTK and they were good. The only difference that I noticed was that the X900 was collecting at 5 seconds and the X91+ at 1 second. I didn't have the time to trouble shoot what happened because the contractor was working 7 days a week and was right behind me. On another job, I used the X91+ to set control at a sewer plant. I couldn't get anything under an hour to solve. I finally used 3 occupations that were about 3 hours long.
I haven't had the opportunity to compare the two GPS units again, but the engineer/surveyor claims he has been using 15 minute occupations without problems.
