Yeah, I know that my Leica SR530s and LGO are beyond their time, but I was wondering if anyone knows if Leica has published GEOID18 model files for use in LGO. If not, has anyone come up with a work around?
It seems that I should be able to fool LGO by taking the Leica GEOID12A files and substitute the GEOID18 files. Since Leica has an executable file "take care" of the interpolation, I hope that I can rename that executable file along with downloading the NGS binary GEOID18 files in little endian format and rename them to the equivalent grid coefficient files of GEOID12A
Gene,
Message me and I can give you a link to a copy of the EXE I received from Leica.?ÿ I also have created a GEM file covering the western US.?ÿ I can not remember how far east it goes but I think it covers CO.
John
Thanks John.
Gene it sounds like John has you covered, but the answer is yes it is available and I have implemented in both LGO and the newer Infinity.
I might be able to get you upgraded a generation to some barely used like new 1230's with GLONASS 🙂

Well, will you make me an offer I cannot refuse bearing in mind that I am self-under employed?
I never upgraded my LGO to include the GLONASS post-processing module. I know I'm ancient only using GPS, BUT when OPUS Projects is upgraded to include the other satellite constellations it will be a consideration. I only occasionally worry about tree canopy.
@gene-kooper Gene I might make you a deal, serious. I have two 1230GG units that are nicer than anything else you will find, just used by the PLS since 2007 other than one week where I regretfully let another crew use them. More wear on the cases in one week than I did in all the other years, but still look and work as new. In fact I have two brand new cases I will provide so you will look like you have brand new gear!!!
I doubt Leica will sell the GLONASS license for LGO, so you may have to purchase Infinity?
Just started toying with idea of selling these for reasonable cost to either a startup or as spares type of deal for a reasonable price just to get out of storage, HOWEVER would need to get something else in case I need to run a base first. No tribrachs, posts or height hooks, but an existing Leica 500 user has all that 🙂
I can can make an Intuicom bridge (900 Mhz) available also along with ONE 900 Mhz rover radio.
@shelby-h-griggs-pls Thanks Shelby. We should talk sometime when you have time.
@gene-kooper definitely! I am trying to get things wrapped up to take a couple weeks PTO, so maybe when I get back on/after October 25th. You still good at number ending in 5424?
