Hello, I have a 2015? Trimble R10 Receiver for sale. Taking offers! This R10 comes with a story!...an HONEST story!! I will be as brief as I can! I live in Boulder, Co. Appx 6mos ago I found...found this R10, it had a sticker with frontier precision's phone number(licensed Certified Trimble dealer and repair station). I called them and they gave me the phone number to Trimble corporate. So I called corporate, told them my story and they gave me name, phone number to the owner. I called..spoke to the right full owner and explained my story. He said it had fallen off his truck a month prior, that one of his employees forgot to put it in the case. So... he then said he had already made a claim to the insurance company, and so he would have insurance company call me....which they did!! Well... The Insurance company asked me several questions and one of them was if it worked or not? I found just the receiver... no nothing...no power cord etc. So she said that I needed to take it in to a cert. Trimble repair station to see if it worked or not. Hahaha well...I live over an hr from this place, but I will. (Honestly hoping for a little reward)!!! So, I took it in had it tested for $125.00 works as good as new the gentleman said, and put it in writing. Well...I called the insurance company back with the results, and hopefully get some reimbursement!!!! Nope...hahaha.. the insurance company said to mail it to them!!! Not even acknowledging my effort.i.e. gas $, time off work to do this, plus $125 to have it tested....NOTHING!....... WELL.. I have a brother who practices law here in Co., although he's a corporate lawyer, he was still able to find out some legal information. Its no more there's(the insurance co.) than it is mine, and because I paid to have it tested, it is now mine...Finders Keepers!!!!
So...with that.....anyone interested? The outer a esthetics have a few light scuffs but nothing major.CERTIFIED Trimble repair station checked out the internal stuff and he wrote as good as new!! Anyways...doesnt the trailor for the Trimble R10 state that it can take a Lickin and keep on a Tickin??!!!!!!!! Email me at laf80501@gmail.com I will give my phone number when we accept offer. Also..I will give names and phone numbers off all persons with whom I've spoken to. Sorry so lengthy, and thank you for taking the time to read.

Lesli, You can imagine how this sale may sound suspect, if you wanted to add some air of legitimacy to your offer, you could simply add some pictures of the R-10 unit with the serial numbers plainly visible.

I'd take a chance for $200. No poles attached.

I am fairly low budget and somewhat in a bind, I look at this as a great opportunity and much needed break, if it works out, I definitely could use this unit tomorrow and it would get used everyday in my operations and I would be very grateful to obtain it

An R10 is a very integrated piece of equipment, I can only hook up to it with my TS3, I can't with my TS2 as it's configured now. I don't know how many DC's would work with it, but as long as you have all the other pieces of hardware and software you could use it. Otherwise it would be a bell shaped paperweight.

With that history on the serial number I am a bit surprised if the dealers would support it for a different user.

It belongs to the insurance company but on receiving it they do owe $125 plus shipping. They could come after the possessor with legal action.

I somewhat agree there are possible side effects to purchasing something like that, but would honestly be willing to take my chances, especially if i could buy that for 1000 i would get me a data collector that would work with it, I currently use a 2012 nomad, with survey pro, it does have the sp 80 in it, but not the trimble 10, i presume newer version of survey pro does have it, either way, still worth the investment, which is beginning to feel like a game of pursey worsey

If i were not in desparate need for new equipment thus in the market for similar, I doubt i would have any interest in buying it in first place. I use my current stuff everyday and have pieced it together, none of my equipment is currently supported by any dealer, hard enough to find cables, the epoch 25 rover was a good unit in its day, with exception to the terrible internal batter scenario, which I still have 4 used up battery boards in my closet, if i could find someone that could make a lithium polymer battery and could reattach it to the circuit board, i would be using my epoch 25 today. I did the epoch 25 swap for a 50 plus 4k 4 years ago, wish i had had the money to swap both back then, but waited too long. I would buy an epoch 50 today, if i could find one for a reasonable price

This is not the way any surveyor should consider getting any of their equipment.

Without dealer support for firmware updates and a letter from the insurance company stating they have relinquished any claim to the unit, it's a tainted paper weight. I think your best bet is to get the Trimble dealer to buy it for resale and they can accept liability for any issues with the insurance company and previous owner. To pawn it here is pretty shady IMHO. Good luck.

Get a quitclaim from the ins co. Now it IS fully clear. It's yours.
Then do as you please.
