Then do as you please.

I agree with Nate. I think the insurance company still has a valid claim. Get them to release it in writing and then sell/buy as you wish. Otherwise, I can see the insurance company contacting Trimble with the serial number to report it "stolen", and the next time you send it in for service it doesn't come back...

I would definitely need to know that the insurance company doesn't want it, and that would need to be in writing. Beyond that I don't see much downside if the price is right. You'd need to purchase batteries, charger, and radio antenna to use it as a rover, plus a case for it, so you're into probably $1500 in accessories just to be able to use it. But for someone who's already a Trimble user it could be an opportunity to pick up an R10 at a good price.

But I agree that the insurance company probably considers that to be their property, and until proven otherwise I wouldn't touch it.

Support? For $1000 you use it until it breaks then ash can it if necessary. I'd call Rob Wilson and Trimble on it before buying, but presuming the story checks out ....

I've got an idea - lets all chip in and buy it for Kent as a peace offering.

[SARCASM]Yeah, but his brother's a lawyer, so there. You are obviously not aware that all other lawyers will agree with his brother.[/SARCASM]

You should have a PC with Nate about what a difference modern equipment can make to your life. You sound a little overwrought right now.. I'm not sure that a single R10 that fell off the back of a truck is the right answer to your problems.

No offense, but new poster who comes on here with terrible grammar and spelling (not a grammar nazi, but anyone who doesn't know the difference between there, their, and they're loses much credibility in my book) trying to sell a reciever that they don't own and being super aggressive in the process is disturbing and sketchy enough to be reported and hopefully banned.

You have no idea how much or what kind of education I have. Nor do you have any idea how long I have been in the surveying business. What you do know is that I can spot trouble easily.

Anyone that buys equipment from someone that doesn't own it has about as much integrity as the person selling it. Quote that Leslie.

I tried to sell a 5700/5800 GPS system on here. The cockroaches came out of the walls to attack me for trying g to sell a nonGNSS system. Same ones that are attacking you. Ignor them.

Behave, people!! No need for rude, sarcastic comments!! 😡
Lesli, our users are concerned because they've been around a while, and to them, this seems "scammy". They are just protecting us and others on here to prevent from being scammed.
With that said, there's no reason to throw around insults at each other. If it keeps up, this thread will be deleted. Heck, it might be anyhow when the boss wakes up sees this post. 😮
