I purchased this data collector and did not know the SURVCE and Fieldgenius would not talk to an R8 model 3. SurvCE is version 3.0 dated 5/3/13 and has TS/GPS/Robotics and Roads on. Fieldgenius is Version 6.06.6 and has Standard/Advanced/TS/Robotic and Leica modules Licensed. Arcpad version is 10. The data collector is super clean and has a screen saver. It looks new. I would like to trade for a similar model with TDS Pro Max. Prefer newer nomad or Ranger with bluetooth and wifi. please email [email protected]

According to the website, it should support it. Could be a setting?

I have offically seen or heard of at least four surveyors buying these eBay units. They sound great but the liscenses are ripped. I am assuming this is in the same boat? If not, if you have full licenses for all that can verified id be interested.

What do you mean ripped? I was told they were fine. If they arent legitimate, then I need to find out. With the pass codes they have now, how could they even do that?

I just went to the carlson site, entered the serial number and it is a recognized serial number which let me download the latest update. I entered my contact info so if there is a problem, they will let me know.

no, I confirmed this with Carlson. The R8-3 sends out a random passcode that only trimble/tds can decipher.
