Very interesting.
I can see a surveyor getting "Bombed" by such a thing.

A famous case in Iowa held the land owner liable for setting a potentially deadly trap for trespassers.

Several years ago at one of our conferences, the TN Drug Task Force did a presentation. They warned of treble hooks being hung in trees about face height around pot fields.

He got bombed right @ the beginning, and the recording was so long, that I was kind of expecting him to get all cleaned up and start to walk away and get bombed again.....

I came across that exact thing on a job one time. We were cutting line through some very dense woods and about three times we hit treble hooks about the size of a hand with our blades. The were hanging from the trees on strings. It was pure luck no one got caught up in one of them. We never came across anything illegal, but we suspected there was something nearby.
Must have been a trot line hoping to catch some "air bass".
Psst. Hey Nate. The official name for such things is brassiere.

I thought that it was "double barreled over the shoulder boulder holder."
😀

The case is from a a West regional reporter (Northwest). Note the Keycite topics on the four headnotes (Appeal and Error, Weapons, and Damages) then they have the key numbers after the topic which take you to the subtopic in their classification system. One of the keycite topics is "Boundaries" which is divided into two parts with numerous subtopics (key numbers). This is how cases speaking to a particular subtopic of interest can be found (for example, Particular Words and Terms under Boundaries, Part I Deeds and Descriptions).
Several years ago we were warned about one pot meth labs being found in forests in the area. One account was of a 5 gallon set up found while marking a line and another was soda bottles. Before that warning, I never thought of these kind of dangers.

My dad told me it was holdsemfromfloppin.
I told my neighbor about the subject video. He loved it.
He's trying to design one that:
Uses a pressurized paint can, and a swing arm, with a nail, that strikes the can, spewing the paint on the trespasser.
He's got a problem with folks coming down the path, (posted) and pooping on his land.
I just want him to catch it all on a game camera!
