I just got the results back for my CST III Field - Boundary and am happy to say I passed it. Since I'll probably never get licensed due to the 4 year degree requirement this is probably about as good as it gets...
Congrats man!
Congrats, but it is sure not over so soon?
What states do you currently work in, how much education and how much experience do you have to date?
You should be able to get somewhat further in another jurisdiction.

Paul I mainly work in Louisiana and Texas. I have a couple years of college but I doubt if any of it would be applicable to a Geomatics degree. There are a couple of states that don't require a degree but I don't really wish to relocate, I'm happy where I am. We have a very good Geomatics program here at Nicholls State, but it would be a full-time commitment to enter into it.

Thanks Dan
Congrats!!!! I figured you were licensed. Terrible shame. You have exhibited that you are no dummy by any means. You would be a great licensed surveyor.
No need to relocate to apply elsewhere. With some Geomatics and some experience in some states you can apply for the FS exam. You would not be an LSIT in LA but in some other states you are an LSIT. Then some day, you have enough experience to think about the PLS.
You never know when things go South in LA and you re forced to relocate, this gives you another option.

Congratulations, keep on keepin the course......
Lee, in California you only need 2 years of surveying education or 2 years of surveying experience to register with NCEES to take the FS exam. Once you pass that, send in an application for LSIT to the California Board with the $50 fee. The LSIT is transferrable across the US regardless of which state you reside in. Like the others have said, who knows what will happen in the future. At least you have your CST and LSIT.
Congratulations Lee!
Do just like A Harris (above) said! B-)
Congrats!

Maybe Wendell can add to the list of states to check off licensure? Maybe add some CST check boxes?
Congrats, man!
MS will take 2 years college and/or experience toward the PLS, or at least used to.
They've been talking about a 4 year degree, but I don't think it has happened yet.
Maybe that can be an option for you. It's just a hop, skip, and a jump over from LA.
Awesome...Good for you!
Lee sold me my first HP 41C around 1987-88. Congratulations.
CONGRATULATIONS!! All of it is good, it shows you are serious about the profession.
and for those who think a college degree is too hard - I was a single mom with 2 boys so it took me 12 years and several academic suspensions to get my Bachelor of Science. I was never a full time student, but pushed the last semester (9 hours) so I could graduate before my 30th birthday - made it by 2 weeks.
It is NEVER too late and any classes you have to date will count toward the dreaded and time consuming general education requirement. But then again I have heard the word "hard-headed" and my name in the same sentence once (maybe twice) before.
Congrats!
Congrats!
Thanks to all for the congrats and the good advice; I hadn't fully considered some of the possibilities.
Congratulations my man. Well done.
Just because I'm paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't out to get me.
