For those that may not know, he's talking about dual hurricanes Iselle and Julio.
Iselle already has about all of Yogi's state under a warning.

See here from the Weather Channel

Hopefully not another Iniki. From the sound of the news reports, it's going to be a double whammy.

If the big island takes a direct hit by one of these hurricanes it will be the first time in 20+ years.

When I checked earlier today, the big island is the only one NOT under a warning. All the others are.

I just heard on the radio moments ago, hurricane Julio will be expected to arrive in about 48 hours.

Thank you from Hawaii!!

Aloha, my dearest SurveyConnect friends! I was overwhelmed by the comments here. Thank you!
Yes, we have two hurricanes heading toward us back to back. Third one is brewing. Fourth one is right below us and I sure pray it won't change its course toward the islands. We are on the alert and monitoring them constantly.

Our neighbors in the Big Island (Hawaii) going take the brunt of it. We could get up to 60 mph of wind. I just hope it won't gain strength!

22 years ago we got hit very hard with hurricane Iniki. The eye passed right in the center of the island. We got hit first then it was quiet...as the eye of the hurricane reached us. Then the bottom end reached and smacking things the opposite direction to ensure complete devastation!

Mahalo again guys! We will keep everyone posted if communication lines stays intact.

Kauai Chickens

Yoginatha,

Was it after Iniki that Kauai was taken over by wild chickens? I've never in my life seen so many wild chickens running around, anywhere. If you are looking for a place where you can sleep in, this is not the place. There is a wild rooster hiding behind every tree waiting to crow you awake at 5 a.m.. My neighbor just got a darn rooster. I woke up thinking I was in Kauai. Alas, it was not so and I am not too happy with my neighbor right now.

I hope the storms go easy on everyone on the islands.

Aloha, Willi:
Yes, Iniki was the cause. We get up pretty early in the monastery--before the chickens do--so never bothered us 😉 But I know it is a serious annoyance to those who are not use to it.

Yswami, please keep an eye out and take care!! I hope these storms turn out to be "much ado about nothing", but you can never tell what Mother Nature has in mind. There are a lot of people out here praying for your safety. Hang in there and keep us informed.

Yoginatha (yswami) has been a very good friend to me and honors our profession tremendously even though he isn't a PLS. Please wish him well through the storms. Yoginatha, batten down the hatches and stay safe!

"Yoginatha (yswami) has been a very good friend to me and honors our profession tremendously even though he isn't a PLS".

He is also an exemplary model of the Human race.

Sannyasin Yoginathaswami is the leader of the Siddhidatta Kulam, the monastic group responsible for buildings, grounds and equipment maintenance, gardens and food production, festival preparations and the assembly of Iraivan Temple. His Tamil language skills help him coordinate the work of our team of Indian sacred sculptors, guiding the schedules and shipping of stones from Bengaluru. He supervises contractors hired for various monastery construction and landscaping projects and communicates with young men interested in monastic life. Yoginathaswami is one of the monks who chant Sri Rudram in Kadavul Temple. He especially loves to prepare for and perform the monthly Ardra Nataraja abhishekam. On retreats he is working with his team to renovate new offices for the kulam.

:good: :good: :good:

Hope Lili?uokalani watched over the Islands!

That is a true and accurate statement.
