I thought that I heard gas prices were going up at a steady pace? Ours have dropped around $0.20 in the last week and a half or so. We're at $2.799/g for reg unleaded (87).

What do you have? And have they raised or dropped lately?

Carl

We're usually about 20 cents below the national average. we have a regional tank farm near us and delivery prices are cheaper around here. They are usually even about 5 cents lower than us in Roanoke and Salem.

Carl,
In NC it's still about the same as yours. not really any significant change in the last month.

Check out the Chevy Volt.

It has a USB drive! What more could you possibly need?

Nothing makes me feel better about myself and my impact on the environment than driving a coal powered car.

:-O Dang, you let the cat out of the bag. But you left off the price tag. That would truly show everyone around you how important your coal powered car is to you!!!!

Volt's are really just an attempt/tool/ploy by non-heavy drinking, non-sarcastic, guys of other than Irish-American descent, to pick up hippie chicks...... 😉

Electrical Power Generation

Here are the 2009 numbers from Wikipedia:

44.9% Coal
23.4% Natural Gas
20.3% Nuclear
06.9% Hydroelectric
03.6% Other-renewable
01.0% Petroleum

You can get the 2010 numbers (and also back to 1996) from DOE here:

http://www.eia.doe.gov/cneaf/electricity/epm/table1_1.html

The exact ratio of the various Electrical Power "sources" depends a LOT on where you are in the country, and where your power supplier buys it's power from.

I filled up the middle of last week for $2.819. I thought the price would be headed up but on my way to work this morning I saw it for $2.789.

In NYC (outer boroughs) the prices generally range from $3.37 to 3.50.

In NJ, they are generally ranging from 2.99 to 3.07.

Here in the Baltimore area, the "cheap" gas is 2.999 (not a misprint) for regular. Other stations are 0.05 to 0.10 higher. I remember the days, not long ago, that NJ gas was actually cheaper than here.
